Software to protect your computer (and more importantly your data) from viruses and other malware.
This software is no substitute for good security practices, e.g.:
- Do not download files, especially applications, from untrusted sources.
- Do not click links in emails from untrusted sources.
- Verify that any form you enter personal or financial information into is hosted on the correct, secure website.
- Do not install plugins or ActiveX controls from untrusted sources, especially in Internet Explorer.
- Consider using a less mainstream web browser and email client. Most exploits target Internet Explorer and Outlook. If you don't need to use these programs, consider Opera, Firefox, Safari for web browsing, and Thunderbird for email.
